Week 4 :Medicine/Technology/Art
Week 4 :Medicine/Technology/Art
I have a strong connection with the medicine and technology. As I want to become a Doctor, I am rather interested with anything medical. I have had three surgeries in the past that have made me very interested in the field itself. I am truly mesmerized with the idea of using technology with in the medical field. By using different technology, the field is able to advance in ways that are amazing. The amount of research that goes into the form of medicine is insane. I believe the medical is its own art form. For me personally, I have experienced this art form first hand. When is was younger I under went a reconstructive knee surgery. Within this surgery, they had to use a cadaver to create a new ligament. The thought of having to be so meticulous and precise excites me. When Doctor is preforming surgery on a person, it's like they are recreating or creating a new part of the body. The body itself is an art piece, therefore when doctors must repair or restructure specific areas, they are perform art. These doctors are able to re-sculpt parts of the body to make is better.

As an example, arthroscopic surgery is a form of surgery that is used to repair small tendons, tissue or ligaments. This is one of the many uses of technology that doctors use when repairing a patient. The arthroscopic surgery is when a small keyhole is made through the body so that a camera can be place inside the body so that the doctors can repair the injury within the skin. The camera is meant to see and later little tools will be used to repair.
Another sort of technology used is MRI's, X-Rays and CAT scans. These sorts of technology are used in order to take small pictures of the body to understand the problems underneath the skin. This form of technology is almost like a photographer of the human body. In its own way, the MRI, CAT scan and X-rays are performing they're own sort of art form. This, in my mind, is beautiful and organic photograph or the art we call the human body.
| Drawings of the human body |
This sort of art form is very relatable because we all have human bodies and the human body is usually all the same. Everyone is a walking art piece. The way are bodies form and the way that how own body interacts with everything inside is fascinating, that's what are is. Art is ascetically pleasing and meaningful in whatever which way and that's how the body is. While there is also so much more to discover about the human body, we can appreciate the extraordinary things the body is capable of.
| The heart as a sculpture |
We are able to explore the beauty of humans through this technology and research, therefore it is truly amazing.
By seeing the body as art, we are able to understand and figure out what happens underneath the skin. With art, it's all about finding the deeper meaning and explore the different routes of emotions it puts us through. Many people have a different perspective of how medical is which allows people to dive deeper into what they believe about medicine and technology on their own.

Just like you are mesmerized by surgeries I am the same with photography. I grew up in a very creative environment and have always found pictures and films to be really interesting. I think it is amazing that they have found ways to use images and photography to help pinpoint medical problems.
